Captain Jason Rose Captain Jason is a seasoned boat captain with over 100,000 miles of open ocean experience. He has extensive experience captaining catamarans, monohulls and large motor yachts on O’ahu. He has also soloed many ocean crossings, ran a 100ft luxury yacht in Alaska, worked on commercial tugs moving between Seattle and Alaska and had lived on his own vessels for over 20 years. Captain Rose is a talented professional photographer who has been published in several surf magazines. She leads all the behind the scenes business management for Pau Hana Sailing. Her food background is in procuring local ingredients and creating menus that highlight those ingredients through simple and clean preparation for an ultimately delicious eating experience. She completed a culinary program focused on cooking with whole foods in 2008 and has continued to take cooking classes around the world. She worked with Jason on a 100ft luxury yacht in Alaska as the chef on the vessel. He is an experienced waterman and Waikiki boat captain. He’s been working on boats and in the water in Waikiki for the past 10 years. He started with board rentals and surf lessons and then eventually found himself working on the beach catamarans and loved it so much that he pursued his commercial captains license. When he’s not working, he loves to surf and ride or work on motorcycles. He made his way to Hawaii in 2012 and has been working and playing in and on the water pretty much since he arrived. He loves to surf, sail, freedive and as he says, what can I say, the ocean is FUN! When Kevin’s not leading snorkel tours, sailing on a catamaran or playing in the water, stay on the lookout as he’s been known to show up as a stand up comic at several venues around Honolulu. He made his way to Hawaii about 10 years ago after spending a couple of years traveling through Asia. That extended trip completely changed his perspective and priorities in life and led him to Hawaii. He got into boats through his love of freediving and says it’s the best thing he has ever done. While in school, he was looking for a job where he could put his language skills to work and started working on one of the Waikiki tour catamarans. He’s been working on boats ever since. Masa loves freediving, sailing, surfing, fishing, really anything that gets him in the water. He is currently looking to buy his own boat and we hope he is successful. After graduating college, she traded in her snowboard in for snorkeling gear when she moved to the Florida Keys to teach Adventure Scouts. Florida introduced her to sailing and water sports. Sabrina had the idea to go and live and work in the four corners of the US, so her next move was off to Alaska to work on whale watching boats for a summer. Growing up as the child of a commercial fisherman, Flynn has had a lot of exposure to boats and the local waters around Hawai’i. The first time he went sailing was on O’ahu. He will never forget feeling the engines turn off and the peaceful sensation of being propelled by the wind. He knew then that he had found his calling. When Flynn isn’t working, he spends his time surfing, fishing, free diving, hiking and going back to Kona to visit his family. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries.
